Islanders with COVID-19 symptoms reminded to avoid the hospital

Islanders are being reminded not to go to the hospital if they have symptoms of COVID-19 or the flu.

Jersey's Health Department is reminding people of the guidance after COVID-19 has been reported in one of the hospital's wards.

More masks are appearing in the hospital as a result, and in an attempt to prevent seasonal illnesses from spreading.

The guidance helps to protect vulnerable patients receiving care.

Health and Care Jersey is asking that people with the following symptoms do not visit the hospital:

  • Cough,
  • Fever or high temperature,
  • Sore throat,
  • Runny or blocked nose,
  • Shortness of breath,
  • Loss of smell or taste,
  • General flu-like symptoms.

If it is an essential visit, islanders are asked to contact the ward or department in advance for more information.
