Nearly 800 people in Jersey have opted out of having their personal data shared with credit reference agencies.
Jersey's government announced last month that islanders' data would be shared with Experian and Equifax to improve access to financial products, such as credit cards.
The information being shared is your name, address, and date of birth.
The absence of an exchange of this information has made it very difficult for many islanders to get a credit card, with several providers withdrawing the service in recent years because of the absence of a central register.
Law passed for easier credit card access
A spokesperson says it will help build more complete credit profiles for islanders, but they recognise that some may prefer not to have that info shared.
789 islanders have decided to opt-out, with the government now starting to share the information of those who haven't withdrawn their consent.
Anyone who wants to opt out can still do so by contacting Employment, Social Security and Housing Department (ESSH). Agencies will retain the info already shared, but won't receive any fresh details.
