Hottest June day on record

Jersey has had its hottest June day on record. It hit 33.4°C in St Helier on Monday (30 June).

That just topped the 33.2°C  recorded on 17 June 2022, making it the hottest June day since records began in 1894.

Jersey Met says June 2025 is on course to be the warmest June on record too, topping that of 1976.

The temperature peaked between 4-5pm.

Thousands of islanders flocked to Jersey's beaches on Monday evening to make the most of the hot weather, or cool off with a dip in the sea.

Provisional data puts the mean temperature for the month at 18.7°C, exceeding the 18.6°C of 49 years ago.

July has started slightly cooler, thanks to a change of wind direction last night.  Daytime temperatures have returned to the low to mid twenties.

It's forecast to be mostly sunny for the rest of the week, save for some mist on Tuesday morning and a shower or two on Wednesday.
