Gov To Publish Data On Vaccine Status Of Hospital Patients

A report will be published by the end of next week on the vaccine status of adults who were hospitalised in Jersey as a result of coronavirus between July and December 2021.

It has been agreed by Competent Authority Ministers.

"Making important data available to Islanders in an open and transparent way is a priority.

However, as with all reports that are published which contain the medical data of Islanders, we must ensure that confidentiality and the privacy of patients is not breached." - Deputy Richard Renouf, Health Minister.

Unvaccinated people are roughly three times more likely to test positive for coronavirus than those who have had at least two jabs, according to data published by the government last week.

Meanwhile, 4,600 islanders have registered for a digital certificate to prove their vaccination status in the last month.

It provides QR codes of first, second, and booster doses, which can be used when off-island.

The portal was launched in October, but it was taken down just a few hours later because of security issues.

It was only relaunched on 17 December.

"Since the portal relaunched, it has been running successfully with a current average of 100 people using the portal per day.

To access the digital certificate and QR codes, Islanders must be registered with Yoti on their mobile device and have a OneGov account.

If an Islander has an issue with Yoti or the CSC digital portal, they should contact the Coronavirus Helpline on 0800 735 5566 who will be able to email a PDF version of the certificate with the QR codes." - Government of Jersey spokesperson.
