Firefighters battle blaze at a St Saviour house

Firefighters have put out a fire at a home in St Saviour.

The crew responded to a 999 call at around 2.30 pm on Tuesday (24 September), after a homeowner was alerted by a smoke alarm going off.

One fire engine attended and a high-pressure hose reel was used to put out the flames.

The firefighters were then assisted by crew in a second engine who worked to clear the house of smoke.

Jersey Fire & Rescue Service says thankfully the homeowner closed the door, separating the fire from the main house and limiting the damage to the property.
