Islanders are being reminded to avoid getting behind the wheel while under the influence of alcohol, as Jersey's annual anti-drink drive campaign gets underway.
From this weekend Honorary and States of Jersey Police officers will be carrying out checks across the island throughout December.
They will be happening at all times of the day and night to ensure people are following the law.
With Christmas parties and festive celebrations, the message from the States of Jersey Police is 'Get Home Safe'.

St Helier Honorary Police have echoed this sentiment with 'don't risk drinking and then driving' warning islanders that the consequences can be 'life-changing'.
The advice to party-goers is to arrange a way home or a place to stay before the night out.
This includes taking a taxi, catching the bus or getting a lift home, and if that is not possible, staying with a friend or booking a hotel.

St Helier's Honoraries shared that if someone is caught driving over the limit, they can face:
- A criminal record
- Up to 12 months in prison
- Fines up to £10,000
- A minimum 12-month driving ban
- A compulsory retest before your licence is returned
Officers also shared examples of cases of drink driving in 2025, where a local defence advocate was sentenced to seven months in prison, with a driving disqualification of 30 months, for crashing and then driving off, while more than twice the legal limit.
The other example was of a driver who was over the limit and caused a collision.
The driver fled the scene, but after being arrested and charged, received 312 hours of community service and a two-and-a-half-year driving ban.
The Honorary force reminds islanders that these cases highlight how quickly 'one poor decision' can result in consequences, including losing their licence, losing their jobs, going to prison and putting lives at risk.
