Château Vermont to become home to new music campus

Jersey's School of Popular Music is packing up and relocating to Château Vermont this summer, in what will be a 'dream move'.

From a new recording studio and space for bands to collaborate, to even parking, the music school has revealed its new campus will be found in St Saviour.

Despite being a staple of the West's Centre for years, a growing demand for lessons means the school needed to expand.

General Manager Phoebe Collins says this is the opportunity to make a music haven for islanders.

"For us to be out in that environment is really lovely, the château is just such a beautiful location, and for us it's just a more creative environment to be in."

Phoebe says they have always been searching for that 'one' campus.

"To be able to have this campus with space allows us to do everything we want within our community.

"It means all of our group classes, one-to-one classes, summer schools, Easter schools, everything we want to run that brings as many people and music together as possible, can now be held in one space."

The move means there will be more spaces for islanders to take classes.
