A book of remembrance has been opened at the Town Hall for the late Deputy Richard Rondel.
The 54 year old politician passed away last week after a three-year battle with cancer.
The tribute's open to the public to sign until next Thursday before it's taken to the Deputy's funeral a week today.
Constable Simon Crowcroft contacted Richard's sons, who welcomed the idea.
"Richard had an enormous impact on the community and I think people do want to express their feelings at the loss of him at such an early age.
"Some people have done that on social media, but obviously other people will feel more comfortable writing some words in a book of remembrance."
Richard's funeral takes place at the St Helier Methodist Centre on Friday 30th November from 12:30pm.
