Jersey Police have arrested a 37 year old man in connection with an attempted armed robbery at Morrisons on Gloucester Street.
Officers have recovered a vehicle believed to have been involved.
Staff locked themselves in a back office when a man wielding a knife entered the store as it was closing at 10pm on Friday.
The man left empty-handed and no one was was hurt.
Investigators yesterday released CCTV footage of a car - thought to be a a black or dark blue Mercedes C Class - and asked for the public's help to identify it.

It was seen at 9.45pm at the West Park roundabout heading towards Cheapside before driving down the Parade, past the hospital and parking on Gloucester Street for around 20 minutes.
It then headed west along Victoria Avenue.
Officers still want to speak to anyone who witnesses what happened, has dash-cam footage or any information that could help the investigation.
