27 people have applied to become Jersey's next government CEO.
10 are local residents, and two others work internationally but have links to the island.
The remaining 15 are applications that have come in from across the world, including Canada and Australia.
A shortlist of five will be drawn up to be interviewed for the interim position of up to a year.
The Chief Minister says she's encouraged by the interest in the role, saying it demonstrates ' Jersey's global presence and the attractiveness of working in our government'.
"I am particularly encouraged by the applications that have been submitted from Islanders; they have demonstrated both their passion for our community and the talent we have here in Jersey.” - Deputy Kristina Moore.
Suzanne Wylie resigned in March after just over a year in post. She leaves at the end of this month.
We're told a final appointment will be confirmed in the coming weeks.
