Tireless Guernsey fundraiser "re-energised" by awards evening

Jo Priaulx, walked the red carpet at the Pride of Britain Awards ceremony.

Jo Priaulx established the PPBF in 2003, following the premature births of her two children.

She wanted more support for Guernsey families.

Her efforts have raised more than £1M for the island’s neonatal unit and seen three flats set up near Southampton General Hospital that islanders can use while their child receives treatment.

Following the sixth annual ‘Blingo’ event, which raised a further £35,000, Jo was nominated for the Pride of Britain Regional Fundraiser of the Year Award.

She attended the red carpet awards ceremony on Monday evening (20 October) in London.

Jo says, although she did not win, she felt privileged to be surrounded by inspirational nominees and famous faces.

"It's given me some more goals and aims to take the charity to another level.

"I am very lucky with how far we've come in 22 years, but there is more to be done to help the community.

"After seeing what I saw the other night, I've got a lot of energy left."

The awards ceremony will be shown on ITV1 this evening.

Jo Priaulx was made an MBE earlier this year.
