The job advert's been placed in places like The Times and attracts a tax free salary of £55,000.
The recruitment campaign runs until 24 January and is being managed by a firm in Jersey.
They say the calibre of candidates applying so far is high.
The Senior Executive Officer role is new. It will involve leading the small public sector and acting as a clerk to Sark's government, Chief Pleas, and its principal committees.
The post holder will also be expected to lead on communications for the island and live there hence the salary being tax free.
The interview process will include a panel of senior members of Chief Pleas and island residents.
