A new children's area has been set up in Les Bourgs Hospice to support grieving children through their journeys.
The area was created using money from the Co-op's Community Fund, which has allowed the charity to buy new furniture, books and art equipment for children visiting family or friends.
Les Bourgs wants children to feel welcomed when they visit, and having an area dedicated to them can help show them this.
Children are welcome to spend time with family in the living room area, with books that explore grief, loss and bereavement.
There are also workbooks for young islanders to fill out with either a family member or nurse which can help them on their journeys.
Laura Wolfe is a part of the bereavement support team and says it is a safe space for children visiting their loved ones.
"Some children are quite daunted about coming to a hospice but it's really important to make them part of this journey, explain everything to them and let them know they are welcome to spend as much time as they want here.
"It's really important to us that we're here to support children as well as adults."
