Bailiwick Law Enforcement officers who are duty on Christmas day will be able to enjoy a festive feast thanks to Waitrose & Partners.
The supermarket is providing Christmas lunch for 26 employees which will include turkey and all the trimmings plus Christmas pudding, mince pies, brandy butter and cream.
Head of Law Enforcement Ruari Hardy said: ' Policing and emergency call handling is a 365 day a year, 24 hour a day role – with Christmas Day being no exception. It’s great, therefore, that Waitrose are showing such community spirit by donating a traditional Christmas lunch for officers and JESCC call handlers who are working to keep the island and islanders safe. And can I take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.'
Chief Fire Officer Jon Le Page said: 'Sitting down to a Christmas lunch is a staple of December 25th and I am grateful to Waitrose for thinking of the firefighters who will be on duty that day, who will, emergency call outs permitting, now be able to enjoy roast turkey with all the trimmings.'
