Guernsey's water storage increases by 1% in 24 hours

57mm of rainfall during Storm Benjamin begins to replenish supplies.

Guernsey took the brunt of the rainfall from Storm Benjamin.

Jersey Met tell Island FM that more than 2" or 57mm of rain fell between 3pm on Wednesday 22 October and breakfast time the following morning.

There were more heavy downpours last night (23).

Guernsey Water say this has increased raw water storage by 1% and in terms of litres that is a massive 40 million.

It comes after a dry spring and summer and warnings from the utility over water wastage.
