The long term solution is the installation of filters to stop Legionella bacteria getting into the water system.
Legionella bacteria, which can develop into the pneumonia like Legionnaires Disease, were discovered during routine testing of Beau Sejour's water system on Monday (14 September).
Staff closed off the shower area immediately and the following day decided to close the centre to the public.
That remains the case and the States say work is being carried out 'at speed' to determine where the bacteria originated.
Large institutions like hospitals and leisure centres can be vulnerable to Legionella outbreaks like this.
It's been decided to install new filters at Beau Sejour to entirely prevent bacteria from entering the water system.
Additional units have been ordered and, as they are fitted, parts of the Centre will be opened up.
The States will make an announcement later today, (17 September) on the situation heading into the weekend.
The advice for anyone who has used the Beau Sejour showers over the past two weeks is to see their GP if they develop symptoms like a cough, breathing problems, a fever or chills.
