Guernsey's Chalmers makes the Commonwealth Games final

Alastair Chalmers has booked a place in the 400 metre hurdles final in Glasgow.

The current British champion won his heat in Glasgow last night (29 July) in a time of 48.92 seconds.

This was close to the pace of the winners of the other heats.

It put him the fourth fastest on the night.

Friday's final could see the Guernsey man bag another Commonwealth Games medal, to add to the bronze from the Birmingham Games in 2022.

Alastair Chalmers was crowned the British 400m hurdles champion earlier this year.
