Four men will tackle a 'unique' French marathon in aid of Guernsey Motor Neurone.
Tom Falla and three of his closest friends - Dominic Heaume, Adam Dorey, and James Draper - will be in Bordeaux on 6 September to take on the Marathon du Médoc.
The 26.2-mile run goes through the French wine region and includes wine-tasting and food sampling stops.
The Guernsey men hope to raise £10,000 for Guernsey Motor Neurone.
Tom says he wants to give back to the charity that has supported him and his wife Daisy since her MND diagnosis in 2020.
“The charity has been a lifeline for us.
“From emotional support to equipment and practical help, GMN makes life a little easier for people navigating this incredibly tough diagnosis.
"Running this marathon is our way of saying thank you, and helping make sure others continue to receive that same support.”
The men will be wearing shimmering mermaid costumes to match this year’s “Under the Sea” theme.
“It’s a serious distance, but taken in a less serious way.
“We’re training hard to make sure we enjoy every moment, especially the French food and wine along the route.
"Daisy loves the idea of us dressing as mermaids, and that’s good enough motivation for me.”
