The States will allow cars to use the Grandes Rocques overflow car park for the next month, but say after that, it will be closed permanently.
The States say the decision to reopen the small overflow car park at Grandes Rocques is due to an 'unforeseen delay' in returning the spot to coastal grassland. It can be seen below, at the top of the picture.

Since its closure was announced earlier this year, beachgoers have complained that parking at the popular west coast bay is too limited and began a petition calling for the additional car park to be reopened.
The States now say the car park can be used again, but only until the end of the school holidays in September.
Then it will be closed permanently, to allow the area to return to nature and provide a link between the headland and other wild areas at Grandes Rocques.
