Guernsey and Jersey politicians discuss air and sea links

Economic Development representatives from Guernsey and Jersey have continued talks about improving inter-island connectivity.

Deputy Sasha Kazantseva-Miller and Deputy Andrew Niles recently welcomed Jersey's Deputy Kirsten Morel to the island.

The purpose was to discuss how they could work together to improve inter-island air and sea links.

This is the second meeting as Deputy Kazantseva Miller visited Jersey in August 2025 and she says it's important that the talks continue.

"Connectivity is central to our economic prosperity as well as social, sporting, and cultural interactions.

"The size of the islands and the diversity of operators and community needs mean it is a complex landscape to navigate.

"Since the election in 2025, our priority has been to engage with Jersey in a pragmatic and solutions-driven manner, and this was the focus of our discussions today.”

Deputy Kirsten Morel called the meeting 'productive.'

"We began discussing areas of mutual interest when Deputy Kazantseva-Miller visited Jersey a few weeks ago, and today was productive in  developing those discussions with the objective of benefiting islanders and businesses in both Bailiwicks."
