Guernsey's overall GCSE pass rate is 71.2%, fractionally down on last year.
624 Year 11 students received their Key Stage 4 exam results across the Bailiwick today (20 August).
Guernsey boasts a 71.2% pass rate, on a par with last year (less than 1% lower), and above England's 67%.
The head of education, Nick Hynes, says the results should be celebrated.
However, he says the comparison is not direct because a much higher proportion of Bailiwick students attend private colleges - 30%, compared with 7% in the UK.
Deputy Paul Montague, President of the Committee for Education, Sport & Culture, has released this message.
"For many students, today marks the first important early set of qualifications they've ever worked towards.
"Behind the results in each envelope are years of effort, challenges to overcome, and a great deal of growing and evolving.
"Whatever today's results look like, that journey deserves recognition.
"My years in the classroom have taught me that GCSE results are just one stage on a young person’s journey.
"Teachers, support staff and families will have all played their part. So, as these young people head off in different directions, my message on behalf of the Committee is clear.
"To the young people: well done, be proud and good luck for the future. And thank you to everyone else who helped them arrive at this moment.”
Blanchelande is celebrating "some of the strongest results achieved by the College in recent years"
89% of the cohort achieved five or more grades at 9-4, with some students securing as many as 12 GCSE passes.
Almost half of all grades awarded at the highest levels, 9-6 (equivalent to A*-B).
Principal, Alexa Yeoman says hard work has paid off.
"These impressive results reflect the hard work and determination of our students, the unwavering support of their families, and the dedication and expertise of our staff.
"They are a testament to the College's commitment to academic excellence and to providing an inclusive environment in which every student is encouraged and supported to fulfil their potential.
"As the College continues to build momentum under its new leadership team, we look forward to building on this success and are delighted that so many students have chosen to continue their educational journey at Blanchelande Sixth Form, benefiting from our outstanding new facilities and broad choice of 24 subjects."
Ladies’ College achieves "outstanding results"
98% of grades were A*-C, and 100% passed both their Maths and English exams.
Over 46% of the grades were A* (Grades 9/8).
Principal Daniele Harford-Fox says she could not be prouder.
"These results represent hard work, commitment and a real willingness to challenge themselves.
"This year's results are a moment to celebrate, but they're only a chapter in each student's story.
"What excites me most is seeing the kind, brave and brilliant young women they are becoming.
"Every one of their voices is so unique and it’s such a pleasure to see them carve their own paths.
'It’s interesting to see how diverse their interests are. Many of our girls are opting to study science, technology, engineering and maths at A Level and University, often subjects that have traditionally been male-dominated."
Elizabeth College records a strong set of GCSE results
The college had a 95% pass rate, with 45% graded 9 to 7 (A*/A equivalent).
Twenty-four students achieved eight or more of the highest grades.
Principal Jenny Palmer wishes the students success in their futures.
“We are incredibly proud of our Year 11 students and all they have achieved.
"These results reflect not only their hard work, determination and commitment over their time at the college, but also the support, encouragement and dedication of their teachers, parents and members of our support staff.
"The majority will go on to A Level study in the Sixth Form at Elizabeth College whilst others will undertake a variety of other pathways, in the UK and locally."
