The gas company has announced a 10% increase in standing charges from 14 May.
Islands Energy Group says it will be increasing its standing charge for domestic and business customers.
That is the fixed daily charge for being connected to the network. It is paid on top of the unit rate of how much gas is used.
The 10% increase will take effect from 14 May and add an estimated £13.90 a year to the typical household bill.
Jo Cox, CEO at Islands Energy Group, said: “The standing charge increase reflects inflationary pressures which have seen our costs rise in supplying gas to homes and businesses. We continue to invest in our network, infrastructure, and research into renewable and low carbon gas to deliver our Net Zero targets.
“We last reviewed our standing charges in 2020 as we try to keep our customers’ tariffs and costs as low as we can for as long as we can. However, we do need to review our charges and costs on a regular basis.
This latest increase for gas customers is in addition to a 12% rise to tariffs in Jersey and 8% increase in Guernsey in January 2024.
Customers who are struggling to pay their bills are advised to contact the company's Priority Care scheme.
