The Guernsey author promotes the BA route as she spends a few days at home in the July heatwave.
Dawn O'Porter arrived in Guernsey earlier this week aboard the BA Airbus which operates the new Heathrow Terminal 5 connection.
She describes the route on her Facebook page as a 'game changer' in terms of convenience for her, while the flight was 'a really dreamy, quick and easy trip over.'
Dawn is open about the fact that Visit Guernsey paid for the tickets in return for some promotional social media.
Visit Guernsey's Zoe Ash says the invite came about because she knows Dawn personally, and the personal touch is 'the way Guernsey works.'
Dawn O'Porter has more than 500,000 followers on Instagram and 41 thousand on Facebook.
This means that when she posts pictures of the BA flight, or later of Fermain Bay at sunset, Visit Guernsey gets a potentially substantial return on the price of a flight.
Zoe Ash says it represents 'exceptional marketing value.'
