JASTO concert - last night of the Proms

JASTO is a community orchestra involving advanced student musicians both young and old, alongside their tutors, members of JSO and JCO, and visiting young professionals. For this concert on July 4th at Les Quennevais, they will be playing under the baton of Gerben Grooten - who is flying all the way from the Netherlands to lead them in a concert themed around journeys and landscapes. Repertoire includes a romp through Finland with the Karelia Suite by Sibelius, Smetana's musical description of the Moldau river, a fiery South-American Danzon by Marquez, and Hans Zimmer's Earth.

The second half of the performance will feature all of the audience favourites from the Last Night of the Proms, for which our musicians will also be joined by members of JASTO Inters, the Da Capo adult orchestra, and guest vocal soloist Christine Jasper.
